Libraries are the places where books are collected, catalogued and preserved so they can be freely consulted by the community, making them the very "temple" of the published work, and it is in this context that the functional and practical importance ofCoLibrì System on the one hand, and its moral and cultural importance on the other, really come into their own.
CoLibrì System has devised and promoted an important, prestigious project specifically dedicated to Libraries:
The aim of this project is to raise awareness among readers of the importance of protecting, respecting and loving books.
Precisely because protecting books also – indeed principally – means protecting their cultural content, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities – Central Institute for the Restoration and Conservation of Archives and Books has decided to offer its support and to work alongside CoLibrì System a partner in order to promote this unprecedented effort.
Each Chief Librarian who intends to play an active part in this awareness-raising campaign, aims to promote the preventive conservation of books and wishes to demonstrate a concrete, coherent commitment to the project by using CoLibrì System to protect and conserve the books in their own library may contact CoLibrì System: the covering machine will be supplied on a free loan-for-use basis, and the library will receive free posters and communication material for display.
Joining the Campaign for the Preventive Conservation of Books organised by CoLibrì System in collaboration with the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities – Central Institute for the Restoration and Conservation of Archives and Books represents a concrete effort to safeguard culture, transmit values and teach others to love books.
Teaching the importance of loving books helps to enhance our cultural heritage, as well as the library demonstrating this commitment.
